Three-phase serial-parallel 30A regulator/rectifier

   The three-phase series-parallel regulator is designed with the aim of surpassing the characteristics of classic parallel and series voltage regulators on motorcycles. It is a top-of-the-line regulator that is comparable to the most famous competitive series regulators for high-speed motorcycles for currents up to 30A. Due to the combination of serial and parallel regulator, it is a unique device that has also been our best-selling regulator model for more than 15 years. This regulator is a good alternative/replacement for the Shindengen SH847 for currents up to 30A.

   The main characteristics of the 3FHVSP regulator:

 

  • Series and parallel principle of regulation: It uses the series principle of regulation of battery charging in combination with a parallel protective regulator, which enables flawless operation at high rpm.
  • Stable voltage regulation: Extremely stable battery voltage in a wide range of revolutions.
  • Reduced heating of the regulator and stator winding: The heating of the regulator and stator winding is proportional to the output current of the regulator, which reduces unnecessary heating of the regulator and stator winding when the generator is able to provide more current than the consumption.
  • Temperature protection: The regulator has a temperature protection that protects the regulator from destruction due to overheating. A temperature sensor is placed next to the series mode thyristors, and if overheating occurs, the series regulator will stop working until the temperature drops below the limit.
  • Overvoltage protection: It works on the side of the AC generator (200VAC or 280AC) and the battery (14.7V; 40Vp instantaneous).
  • Parallel protective regulator: The combined 3FHVSP regulator consists of a series regulator and a parallel protective regulator that is activated when the battery voltage is increased (+0.25V).
  • Reduction of current consumption: Reduction of current consumption from the stator windings reduces the temperature of the stator winding and the regulator, which reduces the need for cooling. The result is faster acceleration and reduced fuel consumption.
  • Design for high rpm: The regulator is designed to work at high rpm while maintaining the reduction of unnecessary heating of the regulator and stator winding.
  • LED indicator: The LED indicator lights up, if the regulator failed to reach the set voltage on its terminals. If the stator winding is in an illegal connection with the housing, the LED will light even when the engine is turned off (while the regulator has a Ignition+ wire connected to +12V).
  • Physical dimensions: 142*88*25(35)mm AX(BX), weight without cable: 520gr (AX) and 570gr (BX).

   The regulator is delivered without a connector with an 85cm cable. It is possible to connect it to 5, 6, 7 and 8 wires of the motorcycle installation. It is necessary to drill holes for fastening (through the AL ribs of the cooler).

 

   The expected charging voltage should be 14.1 to 14.3VDC. If the achieved battery voltage is lower, it is necessary to find the reason for the loss of voltage via the instructions.

 

    Warning: It is not allowed to clean the regulator with a high-pressure cleaner!
