   Voltage regulator 14V-3FHVSP-30A-AX-KS-LI is a perfect replacement for the original Honda regulator. Namely, the original regulator on the Honda has a parallel type of regulation and as such loads the stator winding 100%. A cheaper parallel mosfet regulator may heat up less, but it maximally loads the stator winding of the generator, so it is advisable to choose a series type regulator that loads the generator only with consumption (which is always below 100% of the generator's power). This regulator also works well at high engine speeds. A double regulator regulates the voltage and protects the electronics from possible overvoltage.    The new regulator probably does not fit in the same place and when replacing it, it is necessary to make an additional adjustment (make a different fixture and solve the connection of the wires to the installation). You must never mount the regulator where it is hit by water, stones and mud from the wheels or hot air. Filling the ribs of the regulator with dirt leads to its overheating, shutdown due to overheating, insufficient charging of the battery, and eventually to the failure of the battery and the regulator.

 

   The charging voltage should be from 14.1 to 14.3VDC. If a lower voltage is reached, it is necessary to solve the problem using the instructions. The minimum battery charging voltage that ensures a full battery is 13.9VDC.
