   The voltage regulator 14V-1F-10A-B-LI proved to be very good for charging the battery on the Tomos 4.8 10 18. Before installation, it is necessary to pay attention that the stator winding is separated from the diode that is pressed onto the stator itself . If this diode is not removed, the regulator cannot work. It is recommended to connect the output terminals of the new regulator directly to the battery.     It is advisable to place the new regulator outside the engine area because the temperature limiter switches off the regulator at 80°C. The installation location must have at least 20 l of air volume or free air flow. If you really want to install the regulator in the engine compartment, we can make a 14V-1F-10A-A-LI version with a temperature limit of 100°C, but then there is no guarantee. The 100°C version is in a 25mm thick case, and the recommended one is 35mm.

 

   Expected charging voltage is 14.2 to 14.3VDC. If the voltage is lower, it is necessary to find where the voltage loss occurs using the instruction. The minimum battery charging voltage that ensures a full battery is 13.9VDC. The regulator has a built-in LED that lights up when the regulator failed to reach voltage on its outputs.
